As part of Camden’s ‘early adopter’ status following the Grenfell Tower Inquiry and Dame Judith Hackitt’s report, Paul Fraser and his team have introduced forward-thinking approaches ahead of statutory deadlines, including:
- Early adoption of safety case principles and structured compliance systems
- Use of digital asset management tools to monitor, track, and evidence compliance
- Regular resident meetings, surveys, and safety briefings to enhance trust and accountability
- Securing Building a Safer Future Champion (BAC) recognition for leadership in safety
With the BSR rejecting 75% of BAC applications nationally, Camden is proud they have already received 3 BACs with none rejected — a testament to the dedication of Paul and his colleagues.
At the event, Paul will share:
- How Camden’s safety programme began
- The structure and systems behind it
- Resident engagement successes
- The challenges faced and opportunities for improvement
Through this shared leadership, Camden’s building safety function has become a model for local authorities nationwide.
