Event description

Description

Camera Obscura Day,

Come along to St Paul’s learning centre and celebrate Canaletto’s 320th birthday by making and discovering the origins of TV and Virtual reality, the camera obscura.
The camera obscura is the earliest device for exploring light, first used over 2000 years ago. The master of using it as a drawing device was the artist Canaletto whose birthday we celebrate today!
People can turn up and explore several obscuras any time from 10-30 and there will be 2 x hour long workshops at 11-00 and 1-00 where, after a short talk, people can make their own camera obscura - actual reality ‘AR’ Headsets.
All you need to bring is a shoe box and £3-00 to cover expenses.
The workshop is being brought to you by the newly formed ‘Real Photography Company’ who are based at the community darkroom in St Pauls.
For further information have a look at
https://www.realphotographycompany.co.uk/
or just turn up with a shoe box!
