The Ultimate Beach Lifesaving Experience
Between Saturday 30th July and Saturday 6th August RLSS UK are holding a beach focused water safety camp. The camp will be based in South Wales out of Margam Discovery Centre.
The camp will provide young people aged between 14 and 18 with an opportunity to achieve their RLSS UK Survive & Save Bronze OR Silver Beach Award. This will give them the skills to be proficient in self survival, personal safety, water rescue and first aid in a beach environment.
This is a great opportunity to have fun, learn some important skills and make new friends. This is part of RLSS UK’s plans to build stronger links between youth groups, local clubs, branches and regions so they can have the chance to come together to have new and exciting lifesaving experiences.
The camp will start on the afternoon of Saturday 30th July and will finish following breakfast on Saturday 6th August. During the camp all participants will be trained and supervised by experienced RLSS UK trainers.
The camp includes beach training in order to achieve their award, games and specific training around: leadership; teambuilding; communication; language and culture. We are committed to giving our young people the opportunities to develop into good, confident citizens and this is central to the aims of the camp.
To take part in the camp participants must be aged between 14 and 18 years old
The cost is £250 per participant, this includes: 7 nights’ accommodation in a state of the art education centre with on suite facilities; all catered meals and refreshments; all travel between activities once at the centre; a personalised t-shirt; all activities and trips and their Survive & Save Beach Award as well as other goodies.
The camp is limited to 50 spaces and so will be on a first come first served basis so hurry to secure a place.
