About this event

  • 5 hours

At the Glasgow campus in Garnethill Open Days will take place on 25 and 26 October and you are welcome to attend on either or both of these days. There is no need to attend both but studios throughout the campus will be open for the duration of the two days so book and join us as you like - why not make a weekend of it in one of Europe's top city destinations?

On any day you book to attend you will be able to tour our facilities, halls, studios and workshops, meet with programme staff and current students and experience just a bit of our studio culture.

Full programme of events on the day will be available nearer the time.

Highlights include:

Programme Specific Talks and Tours

Running throughout the day. Attend talks (including some programme specific talks), visit and tour workshops throughout the day, and opportunities to meet current staff and students on the programmes we offer at The Glasgow School of Art .Alongside this, we also have a range of other activities designed to help you get a feel of what it's like to study in a creative environment like The Glasgow School of Art, meet and talk to the staff and students who make our creative community what it is, and get an understanding of the wide range of support available to students who study here.

GSA Halls of Residence Tours

At The Glasgow School of Art, we have two Halls of Residence which incoming students can apply to – Margaret Macdonald House and Blythswood House. You will be able to tour our accommodation in the heart of Glasgow, and will also be introduced to some of the local creative community spaces in the area including the Centre of Contemporary Arts (CCA); the Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT); Garnethill Park and Friends of Garnethill Green Spaces nearby our Halls of Residence.

The Marketplace

The Marketplace is the central hub for you to meet other students and staff from across the GSA. Here you'll find a range of stalls from our support departments who support our applicants and students. You will also get the chance to meet students from our student ambassador team as well as some of our student led Societies at the GSA who can chat to them about studying at the GSA and life in Glasgow.

If you have questions about making an application to art school, staff from our admissions teams will be on hand to talk you through the process and answer any questions you have. The Open Studio team who run our Portfolio Preparation courses will also be on hand to chat to you about submitting a strong portfolio for your application to art school.

You’ll also find our Student Support Services who support student learning in a range of ways including learning support, supporting students with disability, counselling services and student welfare. They are a great team to chat to if you have questions about reasonable adjustments to study or want to know about the practical support and advice available to students on things like accommodation or the day to day practicalities of being a student.

Other departments in the Marketplace will include GSA Sustainability, Archives and Collections, International Exchange and our Careers and Enterprise department.
