In the age of social media it is still important to carry out face to face networking as part of your marketing strategy.
The Cambridge Alternative Networking (CAN) breakfast groups meet once a fortnight from 6:45 to 8:30am to find out about the other members' businesses with a view to sourcing quality referrals for each other. The referrals are not forced. If you take time to learn about someone's business the referrals will flow automatically.
The meetings are a mixture of structured and informal networking. We follow an agenda but still have time to have a laugh as well.
Members are offered sector exclusivity aiding co-operation rather than competition. Competition is healthy but when learning about other members' businesses it helps if you don't have to remember two very similar businesses.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking at the venue is free.
What can I bring to the event?
Please feel free to bring plenty of business cards and/or promotional material
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
If you have booked in less than 12 hours before the event we recommend that you bring your ticket with you incase we haven't had chance to update the attendance details.
What is the refund policy?
If you book in without checking whether your sector is taken then we will give you a full refund, otherwise cancellations must be received more than 24 hours before the meeting for a refund.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

Cambridge Alternative Networking
CAN is run by locally based businesses. Unlike a lot of networking groups in the area the emphasis is keeping it local rather than being franchises of national organisations who spend the money in other parts of the country.
A proportion of the membership fees are spent on marketing the groups locally and on subsidising social events for the members.
