CANCELLED - Articulating your argument in writing (Level 4 only)
Monday, 20 February 2017 from 14:00 to 15:00 (GMT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
This workshop, for Level 4 undergraduates, will help you to move up the grade descriptors in the fourth column of the marksheet.
Successful academic writing means building your own coherent argument through a logical sequence of your own ideas, pulled together and given support at all times by effectively referencing others' findings. Easier said than done?
In this workshop, we will look at topics such as:
- What is meant by 'argument' in the academic sense?
- What is the right balance of your own and others ideas?
- How do you pull together research in a logical order?
- What makes a good conclusion?
First years should sign up for this, or one of the four alternative workshops in the Level 4 programme, depending on which area is your biggest concern or point for development.
Students in other year groups are invited to join workshops advertised as 'All Levels'.
