About this event
Pub & Industrial Heritage Walk
Part of Sheffield Beer Week 2022, join Dave Pickersgill for a talk and walk around Kelham Island and Neepsend!
This walk starts at the Fat Cat pub in Kelham Island. After a short introduction (in the upstairs room), we will follow a 1.2 mile route. We will pass the oldest working brewery in Sheffield, a myriad of industrial sites, more breweries and several pubs before finishing in Neepsend, close to the now derelict Cannon Brewery.
The finish will be at the home of the Sheffield Brewing Company. Their on-site bar will be open and their staff will provide a short guided tour of the brewery .
The Brewery is booked for a private event from 19:00. However, there are many other options close-by.
Dave Pickersgill is the Pub Heritage Officer for Sheffield and District CAMRA, Editor of 'Sheffield's Real Heritage Pubs' and was shortlisted for the 2018 Citizen Communicator Award (British Guild of Beer Writers). The 4th edition of the book is available as a free download. Paper copies are available at a small number of local outlets.
In addition, copies will be available at this event : £6.99 (cash only).
Please note, this event may be subject to cancellation at short notice due to the Covid pandemic.
