Event description
Why do seeds matter? How can artists and scientists work together? How might photographs catalyse change?

About this Event

Join artists Dornith Doherty, Chrystel Lebas, Heidi Morstang and Liz Orton for a day of presentations and discussions chaired by Seedscapes curator Professor Liz Wells and Head of Programme Dr Pippa Oldfield. You’ll also have the chance to view the exhibition, enjoy drinks and have your book purchases signed by the artists.

This one-day symposium is programmed to coincide with the exhibition Seedscapes: Futureproofing Nature, on show at Impressions Gallery from 11 April to 4 July 2020. From Scottish shorelines to Arctic seed vaults, five contemporary artists explore global efforts to safeguard vital plant species from extinction. Featuring photography, moving image and sculpture, Seedscapes reveals how international artists, biologists and ecologists are responding to these challenges.
