HAVE A BUSINESS IDEA AND NEED HELP GETTING FUNDING?
This workshop is for people looking to start a business and provides help developing your idea, understanding the Venture Competition process and exploring other sources of start-up funding.
It is a great opportunity to validate your idea by helping you develop your business plan & cash flow and, it will improve your chance of success with your venture competition and other start-up funding applications.
You may have already started your business, but must not have been trading for longer than 36 months.
Session 1 – Venture Competition Explained
Understand how the Venture Competition works, how your application is assessed and what is required for a successful application.
Session 2 – Business Plan Part 1
The Idea: Your value proposition and offering, customer segments and competition.
Session 3 – Business Plan Part 2
Operational Plan: Turning your idea into a viable business
Session 4 – Financials
Cashflow: Identifying startup costs, developing sales forecast and the cash flow.
Session 5 - Other Sources of Funding
An overview of other sources of funding and start-up support schemes to help you kick start your business.
HOW WILL YOU BENEFIT?
Attendees will benefit by getting help to develop their business plan and cash flows which are essential to starting your business especially if funding is required. It will also help develop and validate the viability of the business idea and importantly, will provide understanding of and access to, funding via the Venture competition as well as other start-up funding schemes.

Eligibility and Terms and Conditions: The course is FREE for all Brunel University students and graduates. If you do not show up to the event you will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of £20.
