The 4th February marks World Cancer Day – a day that unites people around the world to take action against cancer. This year also marks 20 years since Border Force’s charity partner, Cancer Research UK was formed and 120 years since the Imperial Cancer Fund was founded. CRUK have been at the forefront of cancer research for over a century, making discoveries that benefit millions of people around the world.
To mark this significant date and, made possible through the Border Force / Cancer Research UK Charity Partnership. We are delighted to be joined by Dr Rachel Shaw, Research Information Manager to talk about CRUK’s achievements and lifesaving research.
Dr Shaw will be talking through the challenges Cancer Research UK is helping tackle, along with the impact of the pandemic on their mission to beat cancer. She will also speak about a growing area of focus for researchers, the role air pollution plays in cancer.
