Description

The UCO have once again teamed up with world-renowned expert, Dr David Parry to deliver a unique course specialising in anatomy and pathology. You will have the rare opportunity to learn in the King’s College Dissecting Room and visit the prestigious Gordon Museum of Pathology. The day will consist of a morning introduction and overview lecture of the topics. After lunch we spend two hours in the dissecting room, with cadavers, looking at and considering anatomy related to the subject. This is followed by 2 hours in the world famous Gordon Museum, where we will be looking at real potted pathology, descriptions and the actual case histories. Previous delegates have greatly enjoyed the knowledge they’ve gained, the learning environment and the content.

This course is suitable for all manual therapists.

Learning outcomes

  • To better understand the nature of cancer
  • To remind the nature of malignancies
  • Give an overview of the nature of malignancies - spread and their effects - demonstrated with specific examples
  • Give an overview of other examples of tumour spread
  • Demonstrate relevant anatomy and embryology
  • Discuss the above in a pathological clinical context

  • 9.30-12: Lecture (UCO)
  • 12-1: Lunch
  • 1-3: Dissecting room (St Guy’s)
  • 3-5: Pathology discussion at Gordon museum of pathology (St Guy’s)

Who is teaching the course?

Course leader Dr David Parry is a charismatic and expert lecturer who has unrivalled knowledge of anatomy and the effects that conditions can have on the body. He is medically qualified from King’s College and holds an additional honours medical science degree. He has taught in his specialist field for 23 years and lectures worldwide. He is also a Royal College of Surgeons examiner and is active in surgical, educational and human factors research. Dr Parry believes, “There is little more satisfying, humbling and honourable than being part of someone’s development”.

The UCO regrets that no refunds can be made for cancelled places unless a substitute participant can be found. The UCO cannot guarantee that any course will run. In the event of your course being cancelled, all paid fees and deposits will be refunded in full.
