About this event

Travel & Outdoor • Other

Step into the fascinating world of fungi with a guided walk through the unique landscape of Canford Heath Nature Reserve. This event is a chance to explore the rich diversity of mushrooms and other fungi that flourish in the area, whilst learning beginner techniques of how to identify a range of local species. This includes how to get started with identification and what key features to look out for.

Along the way, our rangers will share some insights into the important roles that fungi play in our local ecosystems. You’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the hidden life beneath your feet.

We will be taking a gentle walk of approximately 2-3 miles on uneven ground, therefore we advise you to wear sturdy walking boots and all weather clothing.

Meeting Point – Gate C by parking layby on Arrowsmith Road (W3W ///serve.laser.aims).

*Please note, this is not a foraging event, and private foraging is not allowed on our SSSI heathlands. We’ll be observing and learning, not collecting.
