We’re delighted to invite you to the launch of our new creative walks maps, designed to make getting out into nature more accessible, enjoyable and inspiring for everyone.The three new mapped routes have been specially created for those who find walking challenging. The routes are short, the emphasis being on the journey taken rather than the destination. They encourage wellbeing, creative thinking and a deeper connection to the environment through engaging points of reference on the map along the way.The A3 maps have been beautifully illustrated and will be available to view at the launch. The artist and those involved will be there to talk about their experience creating them and why this project has been so important.Come along to explore the maps, find out about the project and celebrate the launch with us. We’d love to see you there!📅 Sunday 16th March 2025📍 Soudley Village Hall, Lower Road, Soudley, GL14 2TZ⏰ 2pm-3.30pmThis project was made possible with funding from Forest of Dean District Council's Active Travel Grant.About CanopyCanopy Creative Network was formed in 2017 to bring together creative people, artists, arts organisations and communities in the Forest of Dean to exchange and develop creative ideas, practical skills and an awareness of the diverse artistic resource on their doorstep. We run arts festivals, walks, talks, workshops and a range of other events.Our monthly creative walks are available to all. They encourage looking, listening, responding individually and collectively and sharing time together. Each walk is carefully researched, uniquely designed and guided by the artist. Participants are encouraged to stop to observe, record, photograph, listen or consider a particular feature. Numerous approaches are offered to enable individuals to make a personal response visually or in words. The aim is to demonstrate various creative starting points which can be developed by participants later.
