Canterbury Cathedral - Thy Kingdom Come - Pentecost Beacon event
Sat 3 June 2017, 18:30 – 20:00 BST
Canterbury Cathedral - Thy Kingdom Come
An informal service of prayer and worship, led by the Archbishop of Canterbury and joined by Pete James.
Christians all over the world are being invited to come together in what the Archbishop of Canterbury describes as a “bizarre and incredible” movement of the Holy Spirit. Thy Kingdom Come, is between Ascension and Pentecost when people will join together to pray, just as the early disciples did. We want to pray for people to come to know Jesus and for Christians to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to share their faith. Thousands of events, large and small, are planned between 25th May and 4th June 2017 around the UK and across the world.
Some will be ‘Beacon events’ – gatherings in cathedrals, churches and other venues where people come together to pray and worship in fresh and focused ways. As thousands of people gather to pray and worship we hope that the Beacon events will act as a catalyst for transformation.
