In this hands-on workshop you'll learn how to create professional-looking social media content for your small business using Canva!

Please note: To join this workshop you or your business needs to reside within one of the following GM local authorities: Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Manchester, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside or Trafford, Wigan.

You also need to be: The owner of a business OR an aspiring entrepreneur with a business idea you want to develop.

Besides your Eventbrite ticket to the event, you will also need to register with Generator HERE.


CANVA: Beyond the Basics -

Join us for an informative, hands-on workshop that will give you practical information, tips and guidance on how to get started creating eye-catching visuals and videos to promote your small business online, exploring CANVA in depth.

This workshop is designed for those who have a basic understanding of the software's features and can create simple designs - beginers are strongly advised to explore CANVA prior to attending the session to facilitate their understanding of the content.

We recommend you bring your charged laptop, tablet or smartphone, as this is a hands-on workshop where you'll be able to practice as you learn.

Here's what the workshop will cover:


  • Explore and discover key features, delving beyond the basics to upgrade your use of the software to create eye-catching and professional designs for your business
  • How to share, schedule and download your projects with ease
  • Guided activities to apply what you've learnt and build confidence
  • Discover helpful CANVA apps and intergrations that make your workflow faster and more creative

We are able to provide our services and workshops for free because of the funding we receive from the UK government. In order to continue to provide these services free of charge, we need to provide our funders with information about the people we have helped through our services and workshops.

To ensure we have the correct information, please fill out the Generator Registration Form, or bring one of the following forms of identification with you to the workshop:

  • Your National Insurance (NI) number – if you have not yet registered a business
  • Your Companies House registration number or Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) – if you have registered a company with Companies House or are self-employed/sole trader registered with HMRC

Kindly note that we may not be able to admit you to the workshop without this information, so we strongly encourage you to have it ready on the day.
