About this event
Organised and hosted by the captive experts at RISCS CWC and Captive Intelligence, the Captive Essentials one-day education and training course is ideal for anyone keen to learn more about the fast growing and increasingly relevant world of captive insurance.
What is it?
A one-day educational training course that will introduce you to everything you need to know about captive insurance. From how captives work and why they are formed, to how they operate and fit into a broader risk financing programme, Captive Essentials is the ideal one-stop-shop for getting up to speed on a fast growing and increasingly relevant part of the commercial market.
Why do I need to know about captives?
Captives are being formed at a faster rate than ever before and becoming increasingly sophisticated risk financing vehicles. More countries and regulators are paying attention and embracing their value.
The UK Treasury confirmed in July that it has instructed the PRA and FCA to design and implement a "bespoke and competitive" captive regulatory regimne by mid-2027.
While the UK corporate community is already well versed in captives, this development is expected to increase demand and sophistication of captive utilisation in the UK market.
As a growing and wide ranging number of insurance buyers enquire about captives, it is essential brokers, underwriters, consultants and other business partners are aware of their role and how they add value so they don’t get left behind.
Who should attend?
Successful captives rely on a broad ecosystem of support – from brokers, risk consultants, claims handlers and actuaries to lawyers, fronting partners, auditors and asset managers. If you or your company is entering the captive space or you want to expand your corporate insurance knowledge, then Captive Essentials is the ideal place to learn from industry leading professionals, expand your network so you can start captive conversations with confidence.
