This half day interactive training course gives you practical skills to understand carbon footprints, identify major sources of emissions, and distinguish between Scope 1, 2 and 3. You’ll gain hands-on experience mapping emissions, explore strategies for reduction, and create a simple action plan with clear goals. By the end, you’ll feel confident to take action and communicate effectively about carbon reduction in your organisation or community.

By the end of the course, participants will

  • Understand what a carbon footprint is and how it is calculated
  • Recognise the main sources of carbon emissions in organisations and everyday life
  • Differentiate between Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and why they matter
  • Identify key carbon hotspots in their own area of work
  • Explore practical methods for measuring and tracking emissions
  • Examine strategies for reducing emissions
  • Understand the challenges of carbon reduction, including behaviour change, investment and greenwashing risks
  • Develop simple but effective carbon reduction actions they can apply immediately
  • Gain hands-on experience mapping emissions and prioritising actions for impact
  • Create a draft carbon action plan for their team or organisation, with short and medium-term goals
  • Build confidence to communicate about carbon reduction with colleagues, leaders and stakeholders
