Extended opportunity for free Carbon Literacy training for food businesses and charities based or operating from North and or North East Lincolnshire.

The Northern Lincolnshire Food Partnership are delighted to announce that we are able to provide free carbon literacy training for 11 local food SMEs. This initiative offers fully funded access to an accredited Carbon Literacy Course alongside all training and resources required to cascade learning internally across your organisation.

Are you interested in learning more about carbon footprints and how we can achieve net zero? Have you struggled to communicate with others who don’t seem interested? Do you want to become an agent of change for achieving a low-carbon and equitable future in your organisation or society?

Then join our interactive, informative and inspiring training to develop your skills and become fully Carbon Literate, certified through the UN-supported and internationally recognised Carbon Literacy Project!

This training will help your organisation to meet their sustainability goals and cut carbon by shifting the mindsets and values of employees. identifying and mitigating climate related risks, whilst also cutting carbon and saving money.

To be eligible for the carbon literacy training, your organisation must have fewer than 250 employees and a turnover of less than £50 million and you are classed as a SME. Your organisation must also be engaging in activities related to the production, processing, or distribution of food, whether for profit or not.

What is Carbon Literacy?

Carbon Literacy is defined as ‘An awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.’

If you are a small or medium-sized food enterprise operating in either North or North East Lincolnshire, and would be interested in undertaking the training, please sign up here. Our training day will be Monday 6th October between 9am and 16.00pm and be held at the Slow Circular Earth, Community Food Hub at The Ropewalk, Barton. Amie Alissa Watson will be the facilitator for the day. Drinks and snacks will be provided but unfortunately not lunch. We can however book a table in the cafe if people would like to do that over the munch period.

We would love you for you to join us. We currently have 11 places available so please get booked on by Thursday 2nd October so we can plan accordingly.
