Carbon Literacy Training + Certification
Are you interested in learning more about carbon footprints and how we can achieve net zero? Have you struggled to communicate with others who don’t seem interested? Do you want to become an agent of change for achieving a low-carbon and equitable future in your organisation or society?
Then join our interactive, informative and inspiring training to develop your skills and become fully Carbon Literate, certified through the UN-supported and internationally recognised Carbon Literacy Project!
This training includes two virtual sessions, running from 9:15 - 12:30pm on both days (2nd & 9th December) as well as individual study ahead of the two sessions (around 2.5 hours) that will give you a well-rounded insight into carbon and climate. To achieve the certification, you will need to then submit a short evidence form, including a personal and professional pledge, to the Carbon Literacy Project (CLP) who certify you.

What is Carbon Literacy?
Carbon Literacy is defined as ‘An awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.’

Frequently asked questions
Yes, the certificate is included in the price. You do need to attend the full course and complete the Evidence Form to be eligible for certification. If you are not successful the first time, re-submission has an additional £10 charge.
You have one week to submit your pledge after the second session, though we can be flexible to account for personal circumstances e.g. holiday.
The course runs as two half day sessions on consecutive weeks. We start at 9:15 am and finish at 12:30 both days, including breaks.
The course is delivered on Zoom. If you would like an in-person course delivered to your organisation, we'd love to help. Contact our team for in-person options.
We do start with an introduction to the basics of climate science so this course is suitable and accessible for anyone that would like to be certified as Carbon Literate. It has been designed for all levels of knowledge - there is always more to know!
To become certified, you need to attend both sessions, complete the self-study and meet some CL criteria through an Evidence Form and two carbon-reducing pledges. We'll take you through this process in session 2 to help you pass - everyone on our courses has done so far!
We do check through all applications to give you the best chances of becoming certified however if you do not succeed on your first attempt, you can re-submit with the feedback provided. Re-submission costs £10 which will be requested by us to be paid by the date of re-submission.
Of course! Your ticket is non-refundable however you can select a different date or transfer your ticket to someone else. If you need to change date or want to transfer your ticket, please get in touch with the team at carbonliteracy@changeagents.org.uk.
