Description

Free Carbon Literacy training for students!

Do you want to improve your employability by gaining knowledge and skills other graduates don't have?

Are you worried about climate change and want to find out about ways you can act on it?

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges we are currently facing and it will affect all aspects of society. As a result, employers are increasingly realising the importance of employing graduates with an understanding of environmental and social issues in order to cope with future challenges.

By taking part in this training, you will gain an understanding of:

  • The basic science behind climate change
  • Social equity & climate change
  • What you can do to act on climate change
  • Strategies and skills for communicating action on climate change

This is a one-day Carbon Literacy training open to all students at Manchester Met. The training includes a film screening of Leonardo DiCaprio’s award winning documentary Before the flood and an interactive workshop focusing on climate change action and communication.

Qualifications and recognition:

You will receive an official Carbon Literacy Certificate and the training also counts towards your MMU Futures Award.

Places are limited, so please only register if you are sure you can attend. If you fail to turn up you may be taking the opportunity from another student.
