Carbon Literacy Training
Event Information
About this event
Would you like to find out how you can help the University respond to climate change and reduce its carbon emissions to net zero by 2030? If so, why not sign up to complete our Carbon Literacy Training. This training is delivered over two days by the Geography team and is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project.
Carbon Literacy is ‘an awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis’ (Carbon Literacy Project). It helps provide you with the knowledge and capacity to create positive changes in your working practices and lifestyles that will reduce carbon emissions in response to climate change.
The Carbon Literacy Training course covers:
The science behind climate change
Carbon footprints, social equity & climate change
What you can do to act on climate change
Strategies and skills for communicating action on climate change
On successful completion of the training course, you will be awarded a Carbon Literacy certificate by the Carbon Literacy Project to reference your achievement.
PLEASE NOTE: Participation to BOTH sessions is required and this course is ONLY available to Staffordshire University Staff/Students. A wider course will be open to all later in the year.
