Do I need to bring anything?

We recommend bringing a laptop or tablet if possible to benefit from some online activities, as well as a notebook to make notes. You are welcome to bring your own food and water bottles which can be re-filled on site.

How do I arrive on-site?

Our site is set in the beautiful countryside of Nene Park. A bus stop services the site around a 10 minute walk away. Bikes are welcome to be stored on site and parking is also available if needed.

How long is the course?

The course runs as two half day sessions. We will start promptly at 9:30 am, break for a one-hour lunch around 12:30pm and finish at 4:30pm. Lunch will be provided as well as breaks.

How is the course delivered?

The course is delivered in-person at PECT/iiE central offices in Peterborough. It will be highly interactive. If you would like a private course delivered to your organisation, we'd love to help. Contact our team for options.

Question 5

I don't know much about carbon, is this course for me?

Accepted Answer

We do start with an introduction to the basics of climate science so this course is suitable and accessible for anyone that would like to be certified as Carbon Literate. It has been designed for all levels of knowledge - there is always more to know!

Question 6

Will I definitely get Carbon Literacy certified after this training?

Accepted Answer

To become certified, you need to attend both sessions, complete the self-study and meet some CL criteria through an Evidence Form and two carbon-reducing pledges. We'll take you through this process in session 2 to help you pass - everyone on our courses has done so far!

Question 7

What happens if I don't pass the certification process?

Accepted Answer

We do check through all applications to give you the best chances of becoming certified however if you do not succeed on your first attempt, you can re-submit with the feedback provided. Re-submission costs £10 which will be requested by us to be paid by the date of re-submission.

Question 8

I can no longer attend. Can I reschedule?

Accepted Answer

Of course! Your ticket is non-refundable however you can select a different date or transfer your ticket to someone else. If you need to change date or want to transfer your ticket, please get in touch with the team at carbonliteracy@changeagents.org.uk.

Question 9

Is the certificate included in the price?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the certificate is included in the price. You do need to attend the full course and complete the Evidence Form to be eligible for certification. If you are not successful the first time, re-submission has an additional £10 charge.

Question 10

How long do I have to submit my pledge?

Accepted Answer

You have two weeks to submit your pledge after the second session, though we can be flexible to account for personal circumstances e.g. holiday.
