Workshop 1, 9.30am - 11.30am
'Energy Efficiency for your Business' (delivered by Dundee College)
Practical and workable measures to save your business money by being more energy efficient.
- Areas of potential financial savings identified and demonstrated showing full impact and total savings possible.
- Case studies of businesses who have taken energy efficiency measures, demonstrating the process and the results (financial and otherwise).
- Business specific guidance for your business.
Workshop 2, 11.30am - 1.30pm
'Developing a Carbon Management Plan' (delivered by Carbon Trust Scotland)
Practical and step-by-step guide to developing a CMP, from scoping and base-lining emissions to project final plan development. The workshop will describe the process, the benefits and support currently available to businesses, including a practical exercise that will provide some 'take home' material for participants to apply to their business.
Workshop 3, 2.30pm - 4.30pm
'Cut the Cost of Waste and Prepare your Business for Changes in Scotland's Environmental Law' (delivered by Zero Waste Scotland)
A hands-on session on the high-profile issue of business resource efficiency, presenting the compelling factors driving Scotland's businesses to become resource efficient - from imminent changes in environmental legislation, to growing resource scarcity, and ultimately, business profitability and competitive success. Focussing on the staff issues and challenges of changing their behaviour with regards to waste and resource use, this workshop will guide you through identifying the priorities for quick wins, and the simple steps you can take to ensure your business implements successful plans for change. Delegates will leave with an outline change management plan for their organisation to cut costs, boost profits and be compliant with the Waste (Scotland) Regulations coming into force in January 2014.
