Event description
Join the MS Society Cymru's team of Superstars, in the Cardiff Half Marathon 2020!

About this Event

NB. The 2020 race has been rescheduled to 28th March 2021. All participants for the 2020 race will keep their places. There are over 100,000 of us with MS in the UK - around 5,000 of whom live in Wales. MS damages nerves in your body and makes it harder to do everyday things, like walk, talk, eat and think. It's relentless, painful, and disabling.

We're a UK-wide community of volunteers, fundraisers, researchers and campaigners working together to stop MS. We understand what life’s like with MS. And we know together we are stronger.

Join MS Cymru's team of Superstars, as we unite to tackle the Cardiff Half Marathon 2020, to raise thousands in support of our community! The route takes runners past the capital’s most iconic landmarks with beautiful scenery and historic buildings. The predominately flat and fast course makes it ideal for beginners and elites.

The race starts outside Cardiff Castle and runners then head down past the Principality and Cardiff City Stadiums on the way to Penarth. They take in the glorious Penarth Marina before crossing the barrage and heading to Cardiff Bay. Participants go through the heart of the bay taking in the Norwegian Church and Wales Millennium Centre.

Not only will you be taking part in one of Europe's biggest Half Marathon's (and Wales' biggest mass-participation event), but you'll also be raising funds for an amazing cause. With you help we can provide more support, to people like Hayley -who was feeling depressed, isolated, and even suicidal after her MS progressed and was unable to leave her flat. Thanks to the support of the MS Society Cymru, Hayley was able to access funding for an electric scooter, as well as accessible gym membership. And, is also a regular visitor at her local MS Support Group - taking part in a range of specialist activities and social events.

Hayley said: “I feel like I want to go out and do things, it’s like a new me now! I’ve got lots of friends, I’m very enthused by the whole thing - going to the gym, getting fit, feeling healthy."

Help us to support more people like Hayley, by signing up today to join our team of 2020 Cardiff Half Superstars. Together, we are stronger.
