Event description

CONGRATULATIONS! You have been selected for interview for the A200/A204 BDS programme.

You have until Friday 6th December 2019 to book your interview time. Bookings will close after this date. We would advise you to book your interview as soon as possible to avoid missing out on your preferred time.

You are not permitted to book an interview for another applicant or two for yourself. Where two interview times have been booked by the same person or by a person who is not on our list of successful applicants, the ticket will be cancelled.

You will receive an automatic email confirmation of your booking (please check your junk/clutter folder if you do not receive it).

Structure of your Interview

Cardiff University School of Dentistry uses Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs). Applicants will rotate around 10 stations in turn. The interviews focus on exploring the personal qualities and attributes important in developing good dentists in the future; further information is available to download via the following links:

An evaluation of the multiple mini-interview

Applicants perceptions on the multiple mini-interview

Open Day information on the multiple-mini interview

Your interview time will also include a welcome presentation outlining the way the interviews will run, an opportunity to talk to current dental students and the interview itself.

Travelling and Arrival

The interviews will take place at:

University Dental Hospital/School of Dentistry. Registration will take place in the Dental Foyer which will be signposted from the Main Entrance. Telephone: 029 2074 2468 / 6917.

You should aim to arrive 30 minutes before the start time on your ticket to allow time for registration. Your interview time forms part of a rotation around the ten stations and will therefore start exactly on time. We will not be able to delay the rotation if you are late. Your interview should take approximately 3.5 hours in total.

Please take the time to plan your journey. University Dental Hospital/School of Dentistry is not in the centre of Cardiff so you will need to think carefully about how to get there. Please visit the links for directions. for information about public transport.

Parking is very limited on the Heath Park site, we would therefore recommend that you take public transport if possible, to avoid the risk of not arriving for your interview on time. If you do need to drive, there are free car parks on site. You can park for up to 4 hours without having to register your vehicle registration number. If you are parking for more than 4 hours, you will need to enter your vehicle registration number into the console in main reception. Ask a member of staff on the desk if you are unsure.

What you need to bring with you

You will need to bring photographic identification with you e.g. passport, driving licence (provisional is satisfactory). We will be unable to allow you to continue with the interview if you do not have this identification with you. (We will accept the photographic identification you used for the UCAT test).

We encourage you to bring any medication, spectacles or other essential items you will need to aid you on the day. It is your responsibility to ensure you are prepared. Due to the competitive nature of the course, we will not be able to reschedule dates if you arrive unprepared.

What you should wear to the interview
