The AGM will be followed by a talk on J Barry Davies, Glamorgan Genealogist from Dr Diane Brook at 7.30pm. Non-members are welcome to attend the talk, and can join the waiting room from 7.20pm onwards. You will be admitted to the meeting as soon as the branch AGM has been concluded.
J Barry Davies, Glamorgan Genealogist
Soon after the Glamorgan Family HIstory Society was established in 1974 the late J Barry Davies joined. He had a remarkably long life and much of it was dedicated to family and local history. Diane will discuss Barry’s exceptional contributions to the Society and Glamorgan family history in general, the resources available through the Society, and, how Barry came to be so interested in the deep history of his home county.
About our speaker:
Dr Diane Brook has been tracing family for over 50 years and has still not lost enthusiasm for new discoveries and connections. Degrees in archaeology, a career in information and IT, a fascination with genetics, and an inheritance of family history records informs her continuing researches.
