Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital Specialist Care are excited to announce that we will be holding our GP and Primary Care focused webinar by Dr Alexander Lyon, consultant cardiologist, heart failure team lead, cardiovascular biomedical research unit, Dr Peter George, consultant respiratory physician, clinical lead for interstitial lung disease and Dr Matthew Hind, consultant respiratory physician, specialises in adult respiratory medicine and sleep disorders. They all treat private and NHS patients.
Dr Alexander Lyon's clinical expertise includes: heart failure, cardiovascular diseases caused by cancer treatments, known as cardio-oncology, chemotherapy-induced heart failure, Takotsubo syndrome, cardiac gene therapy, novel molecular and biological therapies for heart failure.
Dr Peter George is experienced in managing all respiratory conditions, with specialist expertise in interstitial lung diseases including: idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), sarcoidosis, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, lung diseases due to scleroderma and rheumatoid arthritis and smoking-related lung diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Dr Matthew Hind specialises in all adult respiratory medicine and sleep disorders and is one of three full-time clinicians on the lung failure team at Royal Brompton Hospital.He has particular expertise in: smoking-related lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema,obstructive sleep apnoea, ventilatory failure, developmental lung defects and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP).
Educational Objectives
To evaluate a patient following recent discharge from hospital following COVID-19 pneumonitis and provide a structured rehabilitation programme.
To understand, investigate and treat the venous and arterial thromboembolic complications of COVID-19 infection.
To investigate breathlessness in a patient after COVID-19 infection, including patients who never required hospitalisation.
To understand the diagnosis and management of chronic cardiovascular complications of COVID-19
