Care About Food? Help us review Edinburgh Food Growing Strategy
Date 13th January
Time
Care about food? We are a voluntary organisation with an interest in supporting locally grown food that is affordable for all and produced in ways that are good for local communities and for capturing carbon in the soil. We invite you to discuss Edinburgh Food Growing Strategy with us; it is currently the subject of a consultation by the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC) and we are preparing our response. Our meeting will have short opening contributions from [a/two] speakers with experience of advocating for, supporting or producing good local food to help get our discussion going.
Speaker
Stuart McKenzie President of FEDAGA
Re my talk - How about 'From Landfill to Gold - Communal Composting at Inverleith Allotments'. We are really old fashioned about 'Chairs' in horticultural circles, I'm President. Also FEDAGA - the A is for 'Allotments'. Avoid the Australian ascent!!
Cheers
Stuart
The CEC consultation is open until 18th January 2021 and you can make an individual contribution at any time before then.

An interactive session for all those working to tackle the Climate and Ecological Emergency and looking for tools to engage. Transition Edinburgh - long-time advocates for a climate neutral capital city through awareness-raising sessions - will share how we flipped events online.
- How to achieve wide audience sign-ups?
- When to hold events for maximum impact?
- Ingredients for an empowering session
- Capturing all the ideas and resources.
Led by old hands, we'll make plenty space for sharing new ideas. We will capture these in a simple guide to share with community-led groups seeking lasting change.
We recognise the imperative to move beyond appeal to just those in our climate bubble. Join us explore how to engage effectively.
This event is free thanks to Community Learning Exchange (Virtual) run by Scottish Communities Climate Action Network (SCCAN).
A SCCAN Tuesdays for Future event.
