About this event

This day is organised by The Franciscan Solitude Group, an ecumenical group in Canterbury interested in Franciscan Solitude. This year we are celebrating the group's 25th anniversary. We are interested in Solitude as practised by Francis and his followers in the remote hills of Umbria.

Following the closure of the Franciscan International Study Centre, the 'Franciscan Family' in our area has become slightly dispersed. It is hoped that this day will present an opportunity for reunion and fraternity for all those who follow St Francis and are inspired by his life, legacy and the relevance of his message in our times now.

The day will consist of short talks, some time for discussion, a session of Lectio Divina and ample opportunities for fraternity in the Franciscan tradition.

Mass at 12.00 in St Thomas's Church.

The meeting will take place in the Parish Hall - entrance Iron Bar Lane next to the Parish Shop

Accessibility - lift from ground level to the hall

This event is free of charge.

Registration is encouraged so we can keep track of numbers and contact you in case of any changes.

Donations are invited on the day to help with event expenses and refreshments.

If this day is a success, it might lead to further Days of Franciscan Fraternity
