Care To Connect: The Promise & You
Date and time
An opportunity for Care Experienced people to share their views on the reports released since the launch of The Promise in 2020.
About this event
TICKETS TO OUR IN PERSON EVENT ARE NOW SOLD OUT BUT YOU CAN STILL JOIN US ONLINE!
It is now two years on from the launch of The Promise. Earlier this year, the Scottish Government launched a plan they called, Keeping the Promise Implementation Plan. In this, they laid out exactly how they see The Promise being successful. In May 2022, The Promise Oversight Board released a report discussing the progress of this work.
As the only national independent membership organisation for Care Experienced people, we want to know what you think. This is a chance for Care Experienced people to learn about the plan, discuss how, from their perspective, the content could be realised in practice and explore the associated challenges and opportunities with doing this.
This workshop will be about making your voice heard. To help in that, we will be joined by representatives from the Scottish Government to ensure they hear directly from Care Experienced people in their mission to help implement The Promise.
You will start the day with a breakfast roll and blether with your peers. Session one will provide information on 4 of the key themes of The Promise, with an opportunity to ask questions and share your thoughts. The second session will get you up on your feet and participating in our interactive road map, where you can give feedback and discuss possible solutions.
We hope to see as many of you there as possible because we strongly believe implementation will be most effective when those in power truly listen to Care Experienced people.
The event will take place on Saturday 18th June at 12pm at our national office in Glasgow. If you need support with travel, you can let us know when you fill out your order form.
Please contact events@whocaresscotland.org if you have any questions.
To hear as many voices as possible we will be hosting an online version of the event so you can share your views from home if you are unable to travel to Glasgow. A Zoom link will be emailed to you the day before the event. If you have any questions please contact events@whocaresscotland.org.
