About this event

The Career Catalyst Workshops: Get intentional about your Career

Who are the workshops for?

The workshops are aimed at mid-career professionals. If you’ve been working for 10+ years and want some energising, informative and insight-fuelled career coaching support then these are the workshops for you.

What will you get?

There are times in your career when you really need to take charge. It’s so easy to fall into familiar patterns or convince yourself that progress or change is impossible. It’s easy, particularly when you’ve been in a job for a while, to get stuck in a repeating pattern of inner dialogue: “I’m good at …”, “I’m bad at …” “I don’t like …”, “I want more of …”

Sound familiar? It’s not always easy or comfortable to put your head above the parapet and get noticed. But if you do; if you’re prepared to recognise your strengths, it can be extraordinarily empowering. And that’s where we come in.

We know from experience that getting intentional about your career starts in a simple and surprising place - thought disruption. Rest assured we definitely don’t mean unleashing chaos! We just take the time to question and challenge what you are thinking. The point of these two workshops is to encourage you to probe, question and challenge those thoughts. We know that this is when fresh ideas, new insights, new energy and intriguing solutions build and gather a momentum of their own. That’s why we call it positive disruption.

You’ll leave our Career Catalyst workshops pinpoint clear on your career direction, fired up on energy, with increased confidence and an action plan to help you build a career you love.

Why group coaching?

We believe in the power of the group, particularly a group who is connected by common experience. Sharing experiences, learning and insights in a safe and secure community group turbo charges change. Our intention is to keep fostering opportunities for the group to connect after you’ve attended the workshops.

Who are Rachel Warren and Sarah Taylor?

I forged my career in marketing with a breadth of operational and board level roles in blue chip organisations. I launched transformative team engagement programmes alongside award winning campaigns and industry acclaimed strategic work. I really have walked in people’s shoes; I’ve suffered from burn-out, I’ve been made redundant numerous times and I’ve undertaken a career change into executive coaching, before finding my niche in Career and Leadership coaching. I have done much personal work to reach this point, working through Imposter syndrome, identifying my values, passion and personal drivers and gaining this self-awareness enabled me to do a job I now love.

Sarah’s career has been rather squiggly! In her twenties she tried different jobs including as a media planner, strategy consultant and a runner on TV sets. She went on to carve out a career producing and directing documentaries for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Discovery filming in remote corners of the globe including in Papua New Guinea, the Amazon and Timbuktu. But when an illness profoundly changed her life in 2018, she had no choice but to quit TV. It was a rocky road - not just getting ill, but figuring out what she could do instead. But then she discovered coaching and training and has never looked back. Neuroscience lies at the heart of her coaching style - she’s convinced that supporting her clients to understand their brains better, particularly the story lines their brains produce, has a really powerful impact on performance, fulfilment and well-being.

What people say

“Rachel’s approach is incredibly practical, gently honest but also compassionate - exactly what I needed. She gives you the tools to ensure you are able to evaluate your values, decide what’s important to you and therefore what direction you want to take next”

Sue Stephenson, Marketing Director, Donald Russell.

“I’ve experienced different styles of coaching and I think Rachel has the rare talent of being both incredibly empathetic and practical. It helps that she’s been in commercial roles and understands the pressures as well as having been through redundancy a number of times. This knowledge makes her highly effective at guiding people through difficult times. Rachel helped me get my priorities straight and gave me the confidence to focus on my long term goal to move out of London.”

Alex Ririe, Director, The Collaborators: Branding & Design.

“Rachel’s support has been simply awesome in helping me get my head straight and my thinking clear following my redundancy in 2020. She helped me understand my skills, be clear about my goals and decide how I wanted to get back into work. If you feel stuck, want help to think clearly and to be successful, she can help you.

Malcolm Cooke, Format merchandising Project Manager, Holland & Barrett.

“ I can not recommend Rachel highly enough, she helped me get my business back on track. Becoming my devil’s advocate, challenging me to think outside the box to wider commercial opportunities and resetting my personal brand with her innovative creativity”

Sarah Marsh, Exercise Medicine Physio Clinical Lead; Women’s and Men’s health physio; Wellbeing presenter.

“Your practical, realist approach to coaching was the perfect coaching style for me and has been fundamental in the progress I have made through self awareness to self improvement. With your support I have been able to release myself from the negative cycles of behaviour and lack of emotional connectivity that have been holding me back in my career and as a result I feel a renewed sense of confidence and freedom to be myself.”

Victoria Taylor-Holmes, Sales and Marketing Director, Pulp Riot L’Oreal.

“Sarah Taylor was an incredible coach. She really helped me understand my experience to date and how to move forward into a completely different field. She was guiding me every step of the way and made the process very clear. I found after 6 sessions of coaching I truly knew where I was going. I went from working in the corporate world of FMCG marketing to working as an adoption consultant for an animal charity. Although I am just starting off my journey, I know that I am in the right field for the right time in my life. I have Sarah to thank for that. ”

Sinead Hone, Adoption Consultant, DSCPA

“Our sessions have been a brilliant outlet for me to properly analyse why I am on my current path and to think about how I can forge the way forward in the most productive way. The sessions have given me more confidence to communicate honestly with my superiors and helped me to reframe my personal ambitions as an asset rather than a burden”.

Lucy, Senior Producer at ITV Studios

“Thank you so much for running this session with part of our team last week – feedback was incredibly positive and the impact has been immediate. We have some great practical examples of employing the learning day to day already! Perfect timing after a very difficult 12 months for us all, both professionally and personally.”

Debbie Harper, Head of Corporate Banking East Midlands, HSBC

“This was a really insightful session that really made me reflect on the importance of understanding your personal triggers and recognising and respecting other people’s too. Useful as a leader of a team and also as someone who has to influence other leaders. Great session - thanks Sarah”

Steve Shaw, Head of Customer Services Uk and Ireland, McDonalds

“Thank you for delivering an excellent webinar - insightful, engaging and very powerful.”

Tea Colaianni, Senior Independent Director Watches of Switzerland and Chair WIHTL
