Presenter: Sally Beyer, LDC Development Team

When did you last take some quality time to think about you and your future?
Need space and time out to:
• reflect on your career – is it going in the right direction?
• re-focus on what is important to you in work?
• create a strategic career plan for the next 1-3 years?

This thought provoking and interactive session will enable you to explore how employable you are, identify the work values that drive you and set personal and professional goals for the next 3 years. Along with creating a plan of action for you to maximise your potential both in and outside of work; it will give you some breathing space in a non-judgemental environment, providing tools to be honest with yourself about what you really want.

This workshop is open to all Postgraduate Researchers at the University.
Aims
• Opportunity to reflect on and collate a foundation of information about yourself that will help you make career choices in the future (relating to both work and life)
• Give you some breathing space in an environment where no judgments will be made about you – the chance to be honest with yourself about what you really want
• Time to create a strategic plan for how you will make the most of the next 1-3 years so that you are going in the right direction for you
• Network with your colleagues to discuss ideas, reflect on experience and support one another

Learning Outcomes
• Assess your current career situation – your strengths and areas to focus on relating to your employability
• Identify your motivated skills – the skills you love using and are good at
• Explore the work values that drive you
• Set personal and professional goals for the next 3 years
• Create a plan of action for you to maximise your potential both in and outside of work

Sally Beyer: Sally is a learning and development professional with over 20 years experience of training and coaching people from all walks of life. Along with working for the University of Liverpool, Sally has worked with many private and public organisations delivering career management support to help staff at all levels to achieve their full potential.
