Description

Architectural illustrator Bil Fulton discusses his career with reference to his recent publication Bil Fulton Architectural Illustrator, covering over 300 of his drawings, including work for the Iona Cathedral Trustees, commissions by Historic Scotland including Skara Brae and Edinburgh Castle, Royal College of Surgeons, various developers, and many other major architects' practices, including RMJM, Reiach & Hall, Michael Laird Partnership.

Fellow of the Society of Architectural Illustration, Bil is a freelancer whose career spans forty years.
He studied architecture at Edinburgh University under Sir Robert Matthew, and later moved sideways into illustration. His drawing output has reached a total well in excess of 2000 perspectives together with other presentation drawings. He is also well versed in digital techniques, CAD modelling, and photography.

Bil’s talk focuses on the architectural illustration business and the skills and techniques required, and will be illustrated with a selection of slides from his book. Copies of the book will also be available.
