Coventry University Careers presents the annual Work Experience and Work Abroad Careers Fair - including a range of employer talks in Square One happening during the event!

'Based on the ground floor of the Hub, you will have the opportunity to meet and network with employers who are offering work experience opportunities both in the UK and abroad. From summer internships to volunteering projects and yearlong placements. Dont miss the opportunity to secure work experience in the UK or overseas for 2018!'

The Challenge

The Challenge are recruiting Seasonal Staff for Summer 2018 to support Young People on our NCS Programme. National Citizen Service (NCS) empowered by The Challenge is a government funded programme that brings together 15 - 17 year olds from a diverse range of backgrounds to make a difference in their community. Seasonal workers get paid to work with young people and gain new skills for their CV. We offer a range of roles (leadership, mentor and skill specific roles) on our programmes, that run from June to the end August.

English teacher training college (austria)

As a Student Teacher on our intensive teacher training program, you will travel together with your teaching practice group while learning to teach English as a foreign language to young learners. Student Teachers gain over 300 hours of teaching experience in more than twenty different schools across Austria, while experiencing the rich culture of a country with one of the highest standards of living!
As a non-profit with a mission to provide quality teacher training to young people based solely on academic merit and potential as cultural ambassadors, we are able to offer scholarships to qualified candidates to participate in our program. Successful candidates will receive, in addition to a place on the program, shared accommodation, basic food supplies, teaching materials and program related travel. Our Job Placement Program, available during the final two weeks of the program, offers Student Teacher with CV assistance, professional development and resources for finding and applying to TEFL positions around the globe.

'Barnardo’s Childrens Rights Service are commissioned by Coventry and Warwickshire local authorities to provide the following:

Advocacy service for children in care which ensures that their wishes and feelings are heard with regard to any changes or decisions that are made whilst they are in the care system.

Independent Visitors Service which recruits and provides volunteers who befriend and mentor a young person in care system who have little or no quality contact with their own family. This service is open to children in care who are aged 5 upwards and ends either when the young person leaves care or is 18 years old'

Citizen's Advice Bureau - the Witness Service

'The Witness Service provides practical, emotional support & information to witnesses so that they feel valued, respected, informed & able to give their best evidence in court.

The role involves providing support to witnesses, by explaining the court procedures, legal terminology, showing them around the courtroom before trial & sitting in the courtroom with them, when permitted.

Witness Service volunteers need to have a caring, supportive & empathetic manner with good listening & communication skills & be able to give a minimum commitment of preferably one day per week over 18 month'
