Description

Interested in a legal career in international law outside conventional commercial practice? Have you considered working in an international organisation such as the World Trade Organization?

Professor Gabrielle Marceau, Senior Counsellor, Legal Affairs Division at the World Trade Organization, will give an insight in to a legal career at an international organization. This is a great opportunity to hear directly from an experienced professional who has worked in an international organization for over 20 years.

The WTO’s role is to facilitate trade flows between countries. A career at the WTO’s Secretariat means you will be working in a diverse environment, interacting with more than 600 staff members from about 80 countries. Your workplace will be Geneva, Switzerland, in the WTO's headquarters next to Lake Geneva. You will have the opportunity to work in the WTO's three official languages — English, French and Spanish — and participate in the evolution of multilateral trade.

This event will be followed by Professor Marceau’s Public Lecture Settling International Trade Disputes at the World Trade Organisation: Possibilities for Reform and Innovations in Practice hosted by the Centre for Business Law and Practice. Register for the Public Lecture at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/settling-international-trade-disputes-at-the-world-trade-organization-tickets-42089391503.
