Irene Torcal (Freelance Graphic Designer)

My name is Irene Torcal. I was raised in a creative family. Since I was little I stood out for my drawing, my eye for detail and my taste combining colours. After high school I went for the "safe path" and studied Technical Architecture in the UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), and when I finished the Spanish Property Bubble exploded and there were practically no jobs in that field. That was one of the best things for me because then I decided to go for what I really like and I am good for (I have to add that I was always being contacted for for doing illustrations and graphic designs, when it was only a hobbie for me, I learnt photoshop in a self-taught way) I decided to redirect my career into graphic and web design, and enrolled in TRAZOS Design School; one of the most valued of Spain. "Master in Graphic and Web Design." I learnt a lot there, from the smallest Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator tools to be able to do an outstanding Web Design. After that I moved to the UK and I am a freelancer here and I have some regular customers, for the moment my business needs to grow for me to live on it, but I am glad that I am doing what I love."

Sim Lee ( Warwickshire County Council)

Originally from a marine biology background, Sim Lee now works within the inward investment team at Warwickshire County Council. He works specifically with Digital Creative businesses and promotes Warwickshire as a place to invest to both a national and international audience.
