Description
This one day course will provide an introduction to plastic materials, outline a range of practical plastic identification techniques, and provide practical advice on the storage, cleaning and labelling of historic plastic objects. Training materials will be provided.
Who is it suitable for: Staff and volunteers who have plastics in thier collections and want to know how best to care for them.
Aims and objectives: Lead by Collections Care Conservator, Abby Moore, from the Museum of London, participants will:

Learn about plastic as a material and basic identification techniques

Have a better understanding of how plastics degrade and how this can be identified

Learn preventive conservation methods for dealing with problematic plastics
Lunch will be provided.
