Caring For Someone With Dementia
Event Information
About this Event
Open to Cardiff and Vale residents only:
- Carers who live in Cardiff or the Vale of Glamorgan
- People caring for someone with dementia who lives in Cardiff or the Vale of Glamorgan
- Professionals working within Cardiff or the Vale of Glamorgan
Now more than ever, unpaid carers face additional barriers to help and support.
In this workshop we'll get to know about:
- Dementia and how it affects us
- Who unpaid carers are
- How to recognise unpaid carers
- The challenges and barriers carers may face
- How professionals can support unpaid carers, with a focus on caring for people with dementia.
By the end of the training, we will all be Dementia Friends and Carer Friendly, ready to recognise and support carers of people with dementia. Carers will also know they can turn to us for the support they need, when they need it.
These workshops are supported by the Dementia Friendly Communities Small Grants Fund via CAVAMH and the Cardiff and Vale Integrated Health and Social Care Partnership.
If you have any queries at all, please don't hesitate to contact me;
