Description

This one day conference is designed to support you if you work in a nursing home; if you have a caring role in a primary or community setting, or if you are in a paid or unpaid role (volunteering) in a person’s own home.


A range of expert speakers will share their knowledge, skills and experience to enable you to feel more confident and knowledgeable when working with and supporting a person living with cancer – whether this is in a nursing home or someone’s own home.


This day will provide you with a basic awareness of key topics, with an opportunity to ask questions and network with others in cancer care roles, it is not designed to replace expert clinical or medical care and training.


A range of topics will be covered including:
• Cancer and dementia
• Emergency situations and how to deal with them
• Palliative and end of life care
• Consequences of treatment
• The role of the patient GP and wider healthcare professional team
