Description

WHY

The message of Carl Honore is simple, yet counterintuitive:

"To triumph in a fast world, you have to slow down. In the 21st-century workplace, faster is considered better. But is it always so? When you race against the clock, everything from well-being to work suffers. Strikingly, the right balance between fast and slow boosts your health, as well as, adds more depth, pleasure and meaning to your life. Thus, you grow to become a more efficient, accurate, creative, and productive leader."

As The Economist magazine recently concluded: “Forget frantic acceleration. Mastering the clock of business is about choosing when to be fast and when to be slow.”

CONTENT

In this exclusively harmonious session we will explore answers to:

  • What is the right speed for living your life?
  • How to grow from a good leader to a great one simply by slowing down?
  • How to build your values of slowness – empathy, passion, discipline, creativity, long-term thinking and attention to detail?
  • How can we gradually wear off the habit of multitasking?

FORMAT

Three hours of intensive training with theory, practical exercises and discussions.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

CEOs, key corporate executives, top management and communication professionals directly involved in the strategic business decisions.

THE TRAINER

Carl Honorè is an award-winning writer, global voice of the Slow Movement, broadcaster and TED speaker. He hosts a podcast called The Slow Revolution and his TED talk on the benefits of slowing down has been viewed 2,8 million times.

His audiences range from C-suite executives, entrepreneurs and IT professionals to teachers, academics and medical practitioners. His clients range from Microsoft, Barclays and Reuters to Citibank, Accenture and Unilever to McKinsey, L’Oréal and Haagen Dazs. As a former journalist, Carl covered stories at the Economist, Observer, Miami Herald, Houston Chronicle, Time, National Post.

My life had become an endless race against the clock. I was always in a hurry, scrambling to save a minute here, a few seconds there. My wake-up call came when I found myself toying with the idea of buying a collection of One-Minute Bedtime Stories (think Snow White in 60 seconds!). Suddenly it hit me: my rushaholism has got so out of hand that I’m even willing to speed up those precious moments with my children at the end of the day. There has to be a better way, I thought, because living in fast forward is not really living at all. That’s why I began investigating the possibility of slowing down.”
