Event description
A collaboration between the Carmina band and the mighty Singing Club of Monmouthshire in a special evening of Celtic music.

About this Event

This concert, along with one on 16th November in the Drill Hall, Chepstow, will be the first major collaboration between Bristol-based Celtic jazz band Carmina and the mighty Singing Club of the Wye and Usk Valleys in Monmouthshire. Drawing on the repertoires of both groups, the evening will showcase a range of folk music influenced by the Celtic tradition. Carmina's music has been described as "jazz, folk and Celtic fusion that mesmerises and bewitches" (Irish Times) and " gorgeously haunting" (Time Out), while the Singing Club have been popular favourites at the National Eisteddfod, for their spirit, soul and glorious harmonies. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm concert. Bar and Refreshments available. The event is part of the Night Out Scheme and we are hugely grateful for the financial support of Arts Council of Wales. All profits from the concert will go to The Usk Mayor’s Appeal (Ty Hafan, Friends of Chernobyl’s Children & the Junior Section of Usk Town Band).
