Overview

A new ceremony of carols and readings for Advent, inspired by the music and lyrics of medieval Europe

Join us for our much-loved annual concert of music and readings for Advent - this year marking the start of Madrigirls' 25th anniversary, as well as the start of the Christmas season!

This new cycle of carols and readings features some of our favourite medieval music and lyrics from Scotland, England and further afield throughout Europe. It also celebrates Madrigirls as a group - with many new settings of familiar texts written or arranged by our extremely talented members, alongside a mix of medieval and newly written poetry.

The concert also takes inspiration from Britten's ever popular 'Ceremony of Carols' - which our friends at Glasgow University Choral Society are performing the week before our concert - using many of the same medieval texts that his work includes.

We are performing the concert twice, at 6pm and 8pm. Running time approx 1 hr.
