Description

The LGBT+ Everyone Else Forum are delighted to announce Caroline Paige returns to MDX.

Flight Lieutenant Caroline Paige was the first transgender officer to serve openly in the UK Armed Forces. Before her transition in 1999, she served in the cold war, and was involved in the Gulf War and Bosnia Conflict and flew several operational tours post-transition, including, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan, before her retirement from the military in November 2014. Caroline now runs her own business teaching tactical flying skills to European military helicopter aircrews. She also volunteers as a Stonewall School Role Model, and talks publicly to businesses, groups, schools and colleges, to raise awareness of transgender lives. 2019 is the 20th anniversary of openly transgender military service, Caroline joins us to talk about her role of trailblazing this.
