BOOKINGS FOR THESE SERVICES HAVE NOW CLOSED
Despite the extraordinary times in which we find ourselves this year, we are offering a full range of Advent and Christmas services, which you can join in person (having pre-booked your place).
These 6 “bite-sized” Carol Services will each last only 30 minutes, and numbers will be limited to 40 per service to preserve social distancing.
You may sit to listen, or wander quietly around the East End of the Cathedral, where our Crib Scene will be on display, lighting a candle for prayer if you wish. The Cathedral Choir will sing from our stunning Quire, and there will be short readings and prayers for the season.
Book for 2pm or 3pm for a more relaxed service, suitable for all ages to enjoy together.
Book for 4pm if you would prefer something more formal.
Sadly, though understandably, singing along with the Choir is discouraged to help minimise the transmission of COVID-19.
To attend any of these services in person, it is essential that you book your place in advance, as social distancing means that space in the Cathedral is very limited at present.
Please don’t delay, as these services will be very popular.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
We have a one-way system in place for visitors attending services at Newcastle Cathedral.
Please enter the Cathedral through the "courtyard door" - the one nearest the refectory - and exit through St George’s door.
On arrival at the Cathedral courtyard (the gated entrance behind the Queen Vitoria monument, off the cobbled back street) our Churchwardens and volunteers will be able to show you the way.
Please follow the signposting to maintain social distancing and the use hand sanitiser provided on entry and exit.
Unfortunately, due to our redevelopment works, we're unable to have our heating on at the moment so please do wrap up warm.
Please note, visitors to the Cathedral are required to comply with the following:
- All visitors must book a ticket in advance.
- Please book one ticket per person.
- Tickets are for your use only and are non-transferable.
- In line with government guidelines, you are required to wear a face covering for the duration of your visit. Please remember to bring one with you.
- When you arrive, please have your ticket ready to show a member of the Cathedral team, either on your phone or a printed copy.
- Limited toilet facilities are available during your visit.
- Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refreshments and none are permitted in the building during your visit.
- To help keep everyone safe, please follow social distancing and government guidance when you visit. If you are showing any of the symptoms of coronavirus, or if you've been in contact with anyone that has the virus in the last 14 days, please don't visit.
By reserving your ticket you agree to Newcastle Cathedral collecting the contact information you provide for COVID-19 contact tracing purposes. The contact information you provide will be held securely and in accordance with our Data Privacy Policy which can be found on our website at: https://newcastlecathedral.org.uk/privacy-policy/
