CAROUSEL @ ST MARY MAGDALEN CHURCH, BILLERICAY
Sat 20 May 2017, 19:00 – 22:00 BST
Carousel present: An Evening of Live Music for 'Mind' Charity
We've decided to put on this great night of live music in the amazing St Mary Magdalen Church in Billericay. The church offers awesome acoustics and a comfortable and intimate setting. The event is set to be a special night of live music all in aid of the charity 'Mind'. Each artist performing holds this charity close to their heart and would like to raise awareness and money for the amazing work they do for people who suffer with mental heath problems.
Tickets will be available on the door (if not sold out) at £10. There is general 'cafe-style' seating (with some standing if numbers are high). St Mary Magdalen Church is a 5 minute walk from Billericay station (which is only 25 mins from Liverpool Street) and there is ample parking just off the High Street (behind Iceland). The venue is also only 5 mins off the A127 or 15 mins off the A12. There will also be a very reasonable priced 'Honesty Bar' selling wine, beer and soft drinks! For more information, please contact email@example.com. Any proceeds from this event will go to 'Mind' Basildon Branch, the mental health charity.

Carousel are a 6-piece Americana music collective, based in Southend-on- Sea in the county of Essex, UK. Discovering inspiration and enthusiasm in a plethora of music, the band fuse country, folk, blues and roots into their own stylings, whilst taking full advantage of having 4 vocalists at their disposal. Their influences are drawn from many musical styles, allowing them to present a fresh take on heartfelt, honest music. Their songs are both uplifting and sombre. Wistful yet forward-looking. Energising and emotive. The band’s aim is to breathe new life into music venues and street-level performances around the UK, with a view to removing the barrier between artist and audience.
Chris Asher is an acoustic singer-songwriter based in Essex, UK. Heavily influenced by jazz, funk and folk, Chris’ eclecticism is portrayed fluently into each of his songs. Chris loves to paint and write; and his song writing style resembles that of quite a storyteller. With his musical influences and storytelling devices, Chris’ songs encompass much soul, love and melancholy.
