Carve to Cast - Making your own jewellery.
Come join us at 61 Clepington Road for a hands-on jewellery-making experience! As part of Dundee Open Studios: The Jewellery Edition, we will dive into the practice of wax carving—a central part of participating jewellers Andrea Dritschel and Katie Knew’s creative process. This small workshop will guide you through creating your own ring, pendant, or earring, which will then be cast in silver and finished by Andrea and Katie. You’ll receive your unique, bespoke piece of personal jewellery in the post once it’s complete. Throughout the workshop, Andrea and Katie will be on hand to guide you through the process and techniques of traditional wax carving, providing support every step of the way. Join us on Sunday morning for coffee and the opportunity to make your own custom jewellery while exploring the practices of traditional wax carving, surrounded by the six participating jewellers as part of the open studios. ************ PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE AN ADDTIONAL PRECIOUS METAL FEE FOR CASTING YOUR WAX DESIGN INTO SILVER.
