Join us for an engaging Masterclass on "Cash Management" by Professor Arif Khurshed, Associate Head of Research for the Accounting & Finance Division at Alliance Manchester Business School.


Cash flow is the lifeblood of a company and is fundamental to its very existence. Managers must understand how their decisions on investment, operations and financing lead to specific cash flow movements within the business system. During the Masterclass, we will discuss some of the important elements of cash management, the challenges they present and how managers should manage the cashflows of their companies.

About Professor Arif Khurshed:

Arif completed his PhD from the ICMA Centre, University of Reading and joined the University of Manchester as a post-doctoral research associate. Subsequently he took up a lectureship in Finance. He was promoted to Professor of Finance in 2013. He is currently the Associate Head of Research for the Accounting & Finance Division in Alliance Manchester Business School.

Arif’s research interests span a number of areas in corporate finance including IPOs, venture capital, payout policy and trade credit. He is the author of the book ‘The Mechanics and Performance of Initial Public Offerings’. Arif has a passion for teaching and has been the recipient of a number of faculty outstanding teaching awards over the years.

Arif is on the editorial board of the British Accounting Review and the newly launched Journal of Sustainable Finance & Accounting. Previously he has served as an academic member of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) and as an external consultant to the UK Financial Conduct Authority and the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA). He has also been called upon as an expert witness in matters of corporate litigation.
