CASS Connections One-Day Workshop for Professionals
Overview
For residents of Coventry and Warwickshire only.
This one-day workshop is designed for professionals working with young children, including teachers, SENCos, teaching assistants, social workers, family support workers, nurses, doctors and allied health professionals.
Connections provides an evidence-informed framework for understanding autism, integrating current research, professional expertise and lived experience. The session bridges theory and practice, equipping participants to deliver more inclusive, attuned and effective support within educational, clinical and community settings.
Learning outcomes
Participants will:
- Understand autism within a neurodevelopmental framework, exploring the interplay between cognitive, emotional and behavioural profiles.
- Examine autism through a social and historical lens, considering evolving models and their impact on practice.
- Analyse sensory processing differences in depth, applying models of sensory integration and regulation to real-world practice.
- Develop skills in relational and trauma-informed approaches, enhancing communication and emotional safety.
- Engage in reflective learning through case studies and group discussion, linking evidence to lived experience.
- Identify and implement reasonable adjustments, translating policy into practical, person-centred support.
- Apply structured tools, including the 3C Pathway and Clear Time Practice, to embed consistency and clarity in professional environments.

Professionals in education, health and social care who support autistic children or wish to develop an advanced understanding of neurodiversity and inclusive practice.
