Ownership and value underpin how we as a city shape our environment and economy. How do we collectively plan when we collectively only have ownership of parts of the city? How do we measure costs and benefits when changes often have subtle and far-reaching economic impacts? We will explore immediate issues such as car park revenue but will also open up debate about how we take account of the economics of long-term planning, and how we consider the roles of retail and tourism. We’ll also look at ways to ensure long term community involvement in, and ownership of, any new development.
