Transport & Address:

We will be working at Castlefield Woods. We will meet on site at 10am by the vehicle entrances off of Dashwood Avenue by no.176. Free parking is available on Dashwood Avenue. The nearest postcode is: HP12 3DD.

Please can we ask everyone to arrive on time to ensure you do not miss the health & safety and task briefing. If you are late and the session has already started, you may not be able to join. Thank you.

You don't need to print off your Eventbrite ticket!

The Task:

A day of cutting and raking to help our chalk grassland thrive. Perhaps a spot of litter picking too as we make our way through these woodlands. Come for an hour or two if you can't stay for the whole day.

Timings (please note these timings are approximate):

10.00: Arrival for safety briefing, please don't be late!

10.15: Work begins

11.30: Tea & coffee break

13.00: Lunch time, please bring your own

15.30: Hometime, thanks for all of your hard work

What to bring:

Please bring your gloves (we will have spares) and dress for the weather and the task.

Long trousers are advisable as there may be ticks and thorny vegetation. We also recommend wearing steel toe capped or sturdy boots rather than trainers.

Wear layers that you can remove if you get hot whilst working. Bring a waterproof as most of our sites have no shelter from the rain. If it's sunny you might need a hat and suncream.

Please bring plenty of fluids and a packed lunch. We will bring a tea kit and biscuits.

Please note:

Biscuits are served at all Chiltern Rangers sessions. Please advise if you have an allergy.

Sometimes there is a need for us to use power tools that can be noisy.
